Birdland Jazz Club Neuburg

Neuburg an der Donau, literally Newcastle on the river Danube, is a town which is the capital of the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district in the state of Bavaria. The old town contains some well worth seeing institutions and happenings, such as the 'Birdland Jazz Club Neuburg', one of the best locations for jazz auditions in Germany.

The Birdland Neuburg is a jazz club originally founded in 1958. The Birdland Jazz Club initially ended its activities in the mid-1960s and was revived in 1985 by Manfred Rehm. In the vaulted cellar of the former court pharmacy, which was uncovered in 1991, stars like John Scofield, Carla Bley, Charlie Haden and Diana Krall regularly play. Some of the concerts are recorded and broadcast by Bavarian Radio. The Birdland Neuburg was in 2013 honored for his concert program and received from the hands of Minister of State Bernd Neumann the German venue price.

During your visit to this German region visit this jazz club and enjoy the music.
